The mobility of youth workers in Brussels

The project ,,Roaming” is aimed at developing the capacity of Roma civil society organizations in the Western Balkans, with the goal of more efficient use of EU funds and acceptance of EU values and views, and all through the quality process initiatives and advocacy. Improving the capacity of Roma civil society organizations is essential to support those EU reforms included in the EU integration process and become controllers of the EU policies focused primarily at members of the Roma population.

The project ,,Roaming” is aimed at developing the capacity of Roma civil society organizations in the Western Balkans, with the goal of more efficient use of EU funds and acceptance of EU values and views, and all through the quality process initiatives and advocacy. Improving the capacity of Roma civil society organizations is essential to support those EU reforms included in the EU integration process and become controllers of the EU policies focused primarily at members of the Roma population.

One of the activities of the project is an internship program in Brussels. From June 12th , six representatives of Roma civil society organizations trained in the training within the project, traveled to Brussels for a one-month internship program.

During the internship, participants will be able to:
• to meet Brussels
• to get acquainted with the work of the host organization – Out of the Box International
• to visit the European Commission, the European Parliament, partner organizations, international organizations and agencies, local government and youth center
• to develop a plan for advocacy for the Western Balkans and to develop a plan for its implementation

Participants of the mobility program are:
• Serđan Baftijari from Montenegro
• Arben Kosturi from Albania
• Tanja Djordjevic from Serbia
• Aldin Fafulović from Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Mustava Avdulla Kosovo
• Elvis Memeti from Macedonia

Upon their return from Brussels, participants will run laboratory initiatives in their countries during which they will develop project proposals and initiatives aimed at improving the situation of Roma and Egyptian population in the region.
